So I have previously admitted to having an argyle addiction… my latest craze has been around for a little bit (or a long bit)… it is Fretwork/Quatrefoile. Fretwork started out to be carved wood designs, but has worked it’s way into beautiful fabrics. For those of you who know me, the two pictures below really sing to my soul. I love the Spa Colors mixed with the fretwork, paired with natural elements and also a touch of animal print! So me!!
I love the woven wood shades in the windows below. It adds such warmth. Also notice the quatrefoile skirts on the dining chairs.
This is an interesting architectural detail. They have backed the fretwork with mirrors, thus, expanding the window and creating a transom window effect.
In the below furniture pieces is the Chippendale Fretwork pattern. I love this nightstand and the mirror inset with the fretwork.
Fun fretwork armoire.
Chippendale Oriental style fretwork chair.
You’ll even see fretwork in wallpaper.
Another style in pillows
This was in the game room I just completed. Love the graphic B&W fretwork chair.
Traditional chairs paired with not-so-traditional fabric.
I would definitely suggest a little fretwork somewhere in your home. What do you think?
