Perfect Pie Crust
This buttery crust is amazing! It tastes more like a cookie than a crust… moist, yet flaky. Perfection!
Butter Flavored Shortening
**Strongly recommend, but can use regular shortening if necessary.
Mix ingredients with a pastry cutter and finish mix by hand. DO NOT over mix. Stop when combined.
Divide into two equal halves. Shape into round balls and flatten slightly. Wrap in plastic and put in the freezer for about 30 minutes until it’s cold, but not frozen.
Remove and place between to sheets of wax paper. Roll out crust and shape into pie plate.
To Blind Bake: Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Line with parchment paper on top of the crust and weigh down with either pie weights or dry beans. Bake 11 minutes.
Remove from oven and remove beans and parchment paper. Bake an additional 3 minutes. Cool.
