So here is the first of the tutorials for the classy Halloween decor items I feautured on Arizona Midday yesterday.
This is SO easy and maybe something fun you could do with your kids…
I got this skull from the Goodwill for $1.99. They have a ton of them. You can basically find these things everywhere.
Here are some smaller ones I got at the dollar store…
So start out by spray painting them a metallic paint. I did oil rubbed bronze on the the big one… and silver on the small ones.
But this doesn’t add enough drama for me… so time to break out the glue and glitter! This was hilarious! I am still covered in glitter a week later even though it used the tiniest amount.
I watered down the glue just a bit and brushed it all over the skulls. Then I carefully sprinkled glitter over the wet glue being sure to do it over a paper to catch the extra to reuse later. Again a dark bronze glitter for the big… and a holographic silver for the small.
And here’s the finished product. I need to try and get a better photo of these skulls because these are really much prettier in real life and look AMAZING on TV!
A far cry from the cheap plastic skulls I started with… and I don’t know about you, but I would MUCH rather display these than the original.
**Tiny skull and the bats came glittered already.
I think everyone needs some glittery skulls for Halloween!
Happy Wednesday night!
