I celebrated a pretty BIG birthday yesterday! In celebration and as a thank you, I am going to give away a gift card to Target for $40 to one YouTube subscriber. Details for how to enter the giveaway will be at the bottom of this post.
Now to the tutorial… Do you have an old vintage nativity/manger set that is in need of a little updating? This tutorial is to show you how to freshen it up and give it a more contemporary updated look.
This won’t take you a lot of time or money… and honestly was kind of fun!
Here is the video tutorial:
-Nativity set in need of updating
-Flat white spray paint
-Matte Mod Podge
-Translucent White Glitter
The nativity set featured was given to me by a neighbor who is dear to our family and no longer live next to her anymore.
It meant a lot to me to receive it, however, the style doesn’t fit in my decor and probably the deciding factor was the giant glue spot on baby Jesus’ face. I couldn’t find a way to remove it without damaging the paint.
White nativity sets are so beautiful and classic, so I decided painting the manger scene would be the best course of action for the makeover. It got a fresh look and I got to keep the loving gift of a neighbor.
The Finished Project
The end result is fantastic!!
Pictures don’t do it justice… it’s much prettier in person.
The was placed on a bed of snow because I don’t have a stable yet.
I had an old Christmas tree topper that I placed behind it with some greens. In person, the glitter catches the light beautifully.
